About Us
The History of Big Heart
Alison Geymer has been serving the Parkinson’s community since 2007, dedicating her career to helping individuals move better, feel stronger, and live with confidence. In 2017, she began coaching Rock Steady Boxing classes, which quickly grew to include additional Parkinson’s-specific exercise programs such as PWR! Moves, balance training, pole walking, cardio, and yoga.
Alison led classes at TCU until the pandemic shifted the landscape of care. During that time, a long-time client, Dick Frazier, partnered with her to bring a shared vision to life: creating a true “one-stop shop” for individuals living with Parkinson’s.
In 2023, that vision became reality with the founding of Big Heart Center for Parkinson’s Wellness — a place where individuals with Parkinson’s and other neurological conditions can access expert physical, occupational, and speech therapy, along with group exercise classes specifically designed to meet their unique needs.
Today, Big Heart has grown into a thriving multidisciplinary team that includes:
-
2 Physical Therapists
-
3 Occupational Therapists
-
2 Physical Therapy Assistants
-
1 Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant
-
2 Speech-Language Pathologists
As our waitlist continues to grow, so does our commitment to expanding our services and reaching more members of the neurological community — always with compassion, expertise, and heart.
